No one person can put on a successful event. It takes a team of dedicated individuals all seeking the same goal. The enjoyment of all and the service to others. We have a great team already but are always looking for more talent to assist us in making this the best and most enjoyable convention, parade, festival and dinner/dance possible. Here are the positions, responsibilities and appointees for 2010 Celebrate Santa - We still need more State and Provincial Liaisons!
Production and Video Chairperson Jay Rumple jayrumple@gmail.comwill perform all the duties associated with our Opening and
Closing Sessions, video production and all other aspects of productionJay also produces our promotional videos and
dvds.
Workshop Chairpersons - Santa Carlucci Immediato santa@yoursantatoo.comand Santa Tom Pellitierisanta@toledosanta.com will share the duties for all facets of the seminars
including deciding final topics and instructors, scheduling and
placement of classes.
Parade Chairperson - DeAnna Sorge parade@celebratesanta.comDeAnna (or Dee) will be in charge of all aspects of the parade. She is the former Special Events Director of Pigeon Forge and has invaluable skill and contacts throughout East Tennessee. Many of you met her last year as she assisted Santa Bob and Dana Mack in a variety of ways.
Media & Public Relations Chairperson Santa Joe Moore leads the charge in securing the media and dealing with public relations.
Santa Races Chairperson - Santa Noel, a.k.a. Leon McBryde will be organizing the high-jinks and hilarity of the 1st Annual Santa Races at Ober Gatlinburg. Santa Leon is taking information of each team now and we are putting together the most fun the public and Santas can have! Event Relations & Jingle Bell Ball Chairpersons -Cindylu And Charlie Thomas are responsible for planning and decorating the Jingle Bell Ball, running our new Information Booth, working on the Fashion Show, along with handling all the
information needed to be disseminated to all our participants.
Registration Chairpersons - Bill & Jan Larsondid a phenomenal job for us last year and we are pleased to announce that they have again volunteered to fulfill this role again. We thank them for making this one of the smoothest operations of Celebrate Santa.
Travel Chairperson This individual will be handling the logistics and setting up maps and routes to get to Celebrate Santa! She will be looking into planes, buses and automobiles as well as shuttles and other forms of mass transit to get you here and around Gatlinburg as easily and economically as possible.
State Liaison Chairpersons - Eastern US is Jim & Cindy Hudson, Western US is Fred & Chery Selinsky, Canada - TBA - These people are responsible
for the local recruitment and marketing efforts of Celebrate Santa in
North America.
Committees - We will need several people in each committee.
STATE LIAISONS - We need liaisons in each of the states that are coming to Celebrate Santa. These liaisons will help coordinate people from their state and assist in organizing parade groups and working with Celebrate Santa to make certain that the group can participate in interviews and group activities. We are up to 27 liaisons in the U.S. and Canada. Please contact Santa Joe if you are interested in this position.
Parade committee TONS of people will be needed to assist in decorating floats and
wagons, assisting with logistics, helping with placement of participants,
etc.Please contact Dee to volunteer.
Registration
committee Need to assist with the registration and passing out of
materials to all attendees.Registration
helpers will need to set-up registration areas in six hotels and the convention
center on Sunday (hotels) and Monday morning (convention center). Please contact Bill and Jan to assist.
Jingle Bell Ball Committee Will
assist the Events Chair with the set up and liaison with the convention center
staff for decorating and putting on the Ball on Monday night. Please contact Cindylu & Charlie to volunteer for this fun event.
Collateral Materials
Committee Will help gather sort and organize collateral materials for registration,
workshops and media kits.Most of this
work will be done pre-convention.Take
direction from Miss Mary working with their committees. Please contact us to help out.
Workshop Committee Assist Santas Carlucci and Tom with the organizing and putting on seminars and workshops
including instructors and outside consultants doing workshops. Please contact Santa Carl to help with Workshops.
Trade Show Committee
The planning, organizing and execution of a successful trade show with 75 vendor booths will take a highly qualified and organized team of
volunteers. These volunteers will be critical to the success of this first
convention.We seek hard working but
amiable assistants that can help direct traffic, assist with vendor needs and
work extremely well with convention staff, media and vendors. Please contact us make this a success.
Media Committee
We will need a few people to work with Joe Moore and the media in and around the media
room.They will be handing out media
kits and lining up interviews with attendees and others.Volunteers must be comfortable with media and
working with people. Please contact Joe if you have an interest in this area.
